Doing business with Under Ground Gun Works.
Under Ground Gun Works has developed two distinct service systems - one is for its local customers with access to our physical location and another service level for customers outside of the local area who rely on shipping.
Local FIRST TIME customers inquiring about services.
First, it's probably a good idea to sign up as a member of Under Ground Gun Works. Use the MEMBER LOG-IN REQUEST menu item on the left of each page and fill out the simple on-line form. You will receive a temporary log-in that will provide access to current prices and private FFL member service area.
The next step would be to send us an email that describes the type of service you are looking at completing. If you have questions, then is a good time to ask, and once we respond (usually within a few hours Monday through Friday) together we will figure out a plan to supply the service you need. Once you understand both services and an estimate of cost - we can arrange to meet - usually at one of a few local locations. You can also elect to ship the gun - if that is easier.
Since FLL services (transfer of ownership) have different requirements, prior to our contact please check Private FFL Services after you become a member.
Shipping your gun to Under Ground Gun Works for gunsmithing.
First, it's important to know that you can legally ship your gun (both handguns and long guns) yourself - in the U.S. - if they are going for the sole purpose of gunsmithing and subsequent return to its owner. Once the repair is completed, Under Ground Gun Works can ship the gun back to you (and you only). There are specific shipping methods required by law that are listed below.

Once you decide on a service, it's important to email us - prior to shipping - so we can better understand what you want done - and we can determine the process before you ship out your gun. Plan to include a note inside the package with your return address, phone number & email address.
DO NOT SHIP AMMUNITION with or loaded in the firearm. Package your firearm in a sturdy cardboard box that will allow good padding all the way around. Include some magazines if applicable. For the best protection of your firearm we suggest inexpensive foam lined plastic gun cases and then put the case in a sturdy cardboard box. You can also use the orginal hard sided gun case that came with your new gun - but be sure to place that case into a plain cardboard box. Don't write that your package contains a firearm anywhere on the outside of the package.
Take the package to your nearest package shipper (FedEx will accept handguns and long guns. UPS accepts shipments of handguns and long guns at their Customer Centers). US Postal Service will accept only long guns. Tell the counter person that you are shipping your firearm to a licensed FFL dealer for repairs. REMIND THEM that they should not write the contents on the outside of the package. Be sure to purchase enough insurance to cover your firearm in case of shipper loss.
When repairs or modifications are completed your service and invoice info will be emailed. When payment is received, and has cleared our bank, your firearm will be shipped to the return address you provided.
